Georgia-Pakistan Business Council and Gwinnett Chamber sign Memorandum of Understanding

Gwinnett County – 6/10/2022 - The Georgia-Pakistan Business Council and Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce signed a memorandum of understanding to support each other in economic, educational, business, commercial, and industrial activities.
The purpose of this MOU is to encourage further collaboration between the two parties to best serve their members and the diverse community. Both chambers acknowledge that many current residents of Gwinnett County have a Pakistani heritage or are citizens of Pakistan.
“The Gwinnett Chamber values inclusion and seeks to ensure we are holistically supporting our vibrantly diverse business community,” said Nick Masino, President and CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber. “We appreciate the opportunity to partner with the Georgia-Pakistani Business Council and, in doing so, further the Chamber’s ongoing mission to champion business for the Greater Gwinnett region.”

The signing ceremony was attended by elected officials, members of the Pakistani American business community, and business leaders.
“We hope that this MOU can serve as a stepping stone for Pakistan American businesses in Gwinnett County,” said a founding member of Georgia Pakistan Business Council Rahim Shah Akhunkhail.
The MOU will aim to support businesses by “cooperating in promoting local businesses, nurturing global competitiveness and establishing a basis for shared growth between the private sector and the government,” said founding member of Georgia Pakistan Business Council Imran Niazi.
Farooq Mughal, one of the founders of GAPAKBC shared, “Under the framework of the MOU, the Georgia-Pakistan Business Council is looking forward to forging a strong partnership with Gwinnett Chamber to identify business relationships, DEI Initiatives, bilateral trade, and investment opportunities; and continue to promote the economic and business ties between Pakistani Americans and Gwinnett business leaders. A global outlook is crucial to our mutual success. Gwinnett Chamber is extremely important as an economic partner.”
According to Gwinnett Chamber’s press release, the memorandum of understanding would facilitate inbound and outbound business missions, trade fairs, exhibitions, business summits, webinars, and trade conferences at the local, global, bilateral, and multilateral levels.
